Summary/Abstract: The research interest is directed to the society of Yezidi in the last two centuries implemented in the frame of the ‘Kurdish studies’. The minority of Yezidi in today Armenia is an example of how the ideological power frames define the character of scientific policies toward them in 19th and 20th century. The paper follows the dynamics in the scientific construction of the identity of Yezidi in the Russian and Soviet Kurdish studies and presents the contemporary academic discussion about Yezidi society in Armenia.
