Summary/Abstract: This article gives a practical overview of the legal aspect of European identity and the role it plays in the EU Law. It analyses the mutual relationship and legal function of two concepts of European Union Law: national identity and European identity. It also summarises the functioning of national identity concepts in Czech and Polish constitutional practiceand compares it with practice in the European Union.
