Summary/Abstract: The problem of mutual relations between the financial structure and entrepreneurship is discussed in the paper. The author took the view that a well-organized financial system ensures the proper functioning of the economy at the macroeconomic level. A well-organized financial system also determines the functioning of economic entities at the microeconomic level. It can liberate and support entrepreneurial activities. However, they may also be their obstacle. The financial structure of the Polish economy was referred to the financial structure of the economies of Great Britain and Denmark, ie the European Union countries, whose ecosystems of entrepreneurship were rated the best by adopting the Global Entrepreneurship Index (GEI). From the National Accounts ESA 2010 the closing financial balance sheet of the analyzed countries has been obtained. The analyzes were made in terms of institutional units broken down by financial assets and liabilities. The analysis shows that the financial structure is much more favorable to British and Danish entrepreneurs than Polish ones. The author therefore proposed specific actions aimed at improving the financing of innovative activity in Poland.
