Summary/Abstract: The explanation of the four phases of Freud in the context of the substitution theory would lay the foundations for a very functional system of analysis of the narrative texts. The language is legitimized as a dream work and the text is analysed as a dream, and the author's and reader's attitudes between the resulting four levels can be better understood. With this in mind, we have selected the novel "Mademoiselle Noraliya’s Armchair" by Peyami Safa in order to substantiate the analysis. The use of the author on the fringes of the pragmatic level and on the pragmatic level provides us with a very wide range to explain the purpose.
