Summary/Abstract: The purpose of the article was to define a set of indicators that best explain changes in the market value of the company. In the research were used the most popular financial ratios, which allow to assess the financial situation of the company. The obtained results were compared with Tobin’s q ratio and price to book value ratio. In the research was used a panel data model. The results of the study allow to state that the indicators of the company's financial standing in a higher degree describe Tobin's Q ratio rather than the price-to-book ratio. Out of 11 selected financial ratios, only three were statistically significant indicators that had an impact on Tobin's q value. These indicators were the current liquidity ratio, the operating profitability ratio of assets and the general debt ratio.
