Summary/Abstract: This article is devoted to Bulgarian pianist Anton Dikov’ special devotion to interpretation of Bartok Piano Concertos 1 and 2 that Dikov has premiered both in Bulgaria, also Rhapsody op. 1. He later has performed and recorded Bartok’s entire piano œvre. This has contributed greatly to Bulgarian cultural heritage, emphasizing Bulgarian culture as being part of European culture. Certain specific aspects of Dikov’s approach have being studied, concerning Concerto op. 2. His pianistic achievements are discussed, also his high command of Bartok’s stylistic features and musical language. Performance reviews are cited, also thoughts and comments by the pianist himself. The featured performance, analyzed in this article, can be found in the sound archive of NMA “Professor Pancho Vladigerov”.
