Summary/Abstract: Major individual and social importance is assigned to human maturity for performing such a significant and complex social role as the one of being a parent. Therefore, maturing to parenting is the primary object of interest of this article. The aim of this paper is to characterize this form of maturity. The considerations presented in this article clearly indicate that starting and effective development of the parental relation requires a certain degree of maturity.
