The Natural Development of the Bulgarian Population in teh Western Frontier Territories

Summary/Abstract: The article discusses the present demographic status of the Western frontier territories of Bulgaria and namely natality, morbidity and the natural increase. The researched territory covers 25 municipalities or parts of them as the criteria for defining this longitudinal strip being the territories along the Western border of Bulgaria. The analyses are profuse because they encompass the natural development both of the territorial units (municipalities) as well as their urban and rural population. The article points also to some possibilities of stabilization of this part of Bulgaria making also some suggestion on the subject.
