Citizens’ constitutional awareness of the content of the Constitution of the Republic of Poland of April 2, 1997

Summary/Abstract: The aim of this article is to analyze citizens’ constitutional awareness of the PolishConstitution of April 2, 1997. The paper judges the citizens’ level of knowledge of the basic dates and definitions connected with the constitution as well as the organization and functions of Polish parliamentarism, administration of justice and constitutional judiciary. The article discusses the theme of forming the citizens’awareness through the mass media. The main research method of this article wasto prepare a survey for 300 respondents. The survey consists of 12 single choicequestions. The literature concerning constitutional law served as particularlysignificant aid to introduce and explain basic issues relevant to the subject of study.
