Summary/Abstract: The author publishes a burial with a stone Kabardino-Pyatigorsk ax found in the barrow near Mashuk winery in the Caucasus Mineral Water region, excavated by G. E. Afanasyev in 1975. Features of funerary rites and a very prestigious set of the grave goods are very rare for Pyatigorsk region of the middle Bronze Age. A special feature of the funerary rite is the position of the body stretched on the back at the level of the ancient surface of the earth, on a stone laying. The body is oriented westwards. The paper presents features of Kabardino-Pyatigorsk type axes as weapons of impact action, as well as various aspects of its symbolism.
