Summary/Abstract: The article signed by Alexandru Voicu consists in an overview of the main events that shaped the history of Iraq in the last four years. Structured in four chapters, the paper focuses on the main political steps and security challenges Iraq experienced during its bloody transition to democracy. From a larger perspective, Iraq can be seen like a unique political experiment with a yet undecided outcome. The article puts together the often disparate pieces in order to create a clearer and more fluid image of the successes, failures and limits of the US-led military intervention.
