Summary/Abstract: In the SPA and wellness department of the hotel businesses, problems such as lack of speaking a common language, lack of professional knowledge of human resources, violation of ethics, prioritizing economic objectives and not asking questions to the touristic consumer about age, operation, allergy and nonnotifiable disease can be encountered. Such problems may be primarily a threat to the health of the tourist and may have a negative impact on the intention to purchase again. According to this, the aim of this study is to reveal the problems encountered in SPA and wellness departments of five-star resort hotels. According to the semi-structured interview form, the data obtained with the qualitative research approach from SPA and wellness department managers of five-star coastal resort hotel businesses in Fethiye, has been divided into categories. As a result of this study, it has been determined that SPA and wellness services one of the obstacles for first and re-purchasing, because of their being sold more expensively compared to bathhouses/hammams and accommodation establishments certificated by municipality. And besides of that, it has been identified as the main problems, perceived accordance with the five star hotels' being coastal region establishments and therefore seasonal services provided and difficulty finding Turkish female employees. In this respect, it is hoped that the gap in the literature will be filled.
