ODYSSEUS AND SIRENS, AN INVITATION TOWARDS ISO-POLYPHONIC REGION OF EPIRUS

Summary/Abstract: This study begins with its author’s preoccupation to find out the immemorial origin of the Albanian iso-polyphony, as an extraordinary phenomenon in conception of the very music. In it there are intermingled theses and hypotheses about this symbolism and there can be found sufficient motives to prove the existence of iso-polyphony as early as in ancient civilisations. During this inexhaustible study work, the author had to be engaged in issues which overpass his competencies and his desire for a simple ethno musical interpretation of Homer’s “Odysseus”.
