Summary/Abstract: This paper discusses the position of ICT in our educational system and the possibilities for its development. That there could be improvement of the position of ICT in education it requires the existence of systematic recognition of the need for the same in the creation of educational policy. Positive movement and the basis for improvement in our educational system is to define and adoption of the "Guidelines for improving the role of information and communication technologies in education." This strategic document is actually a guarantor of the development of infrastructure for the realization of the e-learning in the educational system of our country. A great incentive for the advancement of ICT in education is the adoption of cross-curricular competencies that students should develop during their schooling, including the Digital competence. Through the work is presented a research related to the students 'attitudes about the application of ICT in classes which was conducted in the elementary school "Selakovac" from Novi Pazar, with the aim of reviewing students' opinions on the influence of ICT in teaching and pointing out opportunities for improvement. The survey results confirm the need for intensified implementation, as well as improving the position of ICT in teaching. Final considerations are actually reflections and summarizing in relation to the current position of ICT in our educational system.
