Summary/Abstract: The author has been doing research on the traditional nutrition in the villages around Zagreb, taking part in the project »Scientific documentation about the folk life in the surroundings of Zagreb«. This paper gives a synthesis of a ten years work on this subject. Besides the ways of preparing food and different kinds of meals known in this district from ancient times, the author indicates changes in the way of life which in recent time led to the changing of food habits of these people.
