Summary/Abstract: The author gives an account of the ethnographic school collections assembled in the municipality of Nova Gradiška from 1961 to 1983. The selection of objects depended on the qualifications of the collection-caretakers. The objects very often are not inventarized, and they are often damaged or even get lost. The new statute law on the protection of cultural monuments would have to give certain licences, to ethnographic museums amid to promote them into the ■ tutors of the existing ethnographic school Collections, in order to save the ethnographic objects they hold.
