THE EFFECT OF CONSUMPTION ON LIFE STYLES

Summary/Abstract: Consumption and capitalism have changed by interacting with each other in the course of time. The response of this change experienced in real life is observed in daily life practices. The daily life is the scene of life which interaction occurs and human relationships are shaped. This image resembling the scene is in harmony with the way people reveal themselves. The daily life, shaped within the capitalist market system, is fed by the fact that the consumption exceeds the needs and passes to the show off stage every day. The capitalist system reacting with its renewed form and new means of consumption has transformed people into free but also captive individuals. In this captivity, the nature of the relations has changed and the primary means of communication have been replaced by social media. This study emphasizes effect of consumption on daily life.
