Summary/Abstract: The text deals with the development of ethnological thought within the “institute school” of the 1970s, i.e., with the place of new paradigm in the history of Croatian ethnology: attitude of the authors of the ethnology of the contemporary everyday life towards the traditional ethnological subject and method, consequences of the dissolution of research myths and self-denial of the authorship, but also with the consequences of theoretical eclecticism and broadening of the subject.
