Summary/Abstract: The authoress discusses the position and role of parents in the process of education and in educational programs (curricula) for pre-school children in the pre-war period. Based on this analysis, she concludes that parents were given a minor role. The educational institution and the family were "two separate worlds". The parents were in a way subordinate to the institution, while education was mostly "a matter of the state". This was particularly so in the seventies. The second program, from the year 1983, gives a certain freedom to the parents, even "acknowledging" their existence and attempts to define a program for working with children in the second family. The authoress speaks in behalf of a different concept of educational programs, finding reason for her statement in the discrepancies between the program and the reality of education. In the humanistic concept of curricula the approach to the development of curricula differs from the approach to the educator/teacher, parent and all the participants, directly or indirectly included in the process of education.
