Summary/Abstract: This study aims at presenting an analysis of the National Security Strategy of Romania from the perspective of potential ways of implementing it (tasks, sub-systems and actors). An overview of the current security environment in Central and Eastern Europe is equally presented as well as the role of NATO in the European security. Conclusions on the implementation ways of the National Security Strategy of Romania and recommendations for a scientific approach in re-thinking the strategy are rendered in the last part.
