Summary/Abstract: Created on April 11, 1919, I.LO. counts ten decades of work in the field of social justice and, at the same time, the effort to ensure world peace. The most importantsources of international labour law are the acts of the International Labour Organization:conventions and recommendations. I.L.O. conventions are part of the category ofinternational treaties, in the broad sense of the term, constituting a legal act by whichinternational rules and legal relations are created, amended or abolished.Recommendations as conventions are international instruments of work, therecommendation is often an accessory to the convention used to supplement it, and in othercases the recommendation may be a much more advanced regulation than the convention.Romania has ratified 56 of the 189 conventions ranging among countries with an averagenumber of ratifications
