Summary/Abstract: The city is not just alive but bustling. In order to function it needs public transportation, it needs a food and drinks industry to cater to the daily needs of the people living and/or working therein. It has an unexpectedly vibrant spiritual life as seen in its many places of worship as well as an intellectual and artistic life epitomised by its institutions of education, museums, art galleries and monuments. And then there is the biggest luxury of all. In an urban environment, it isn’t just the real estate that is hard to come by also quality air and green spaces. The city of London however has plenty of all: floor space, fresh air and most importantly gardens and parks available to the public. With all these ingredients, the City can and often does put on a great show.
