Summary/Abstract: The current thesis which casts doubt on the Aristotelian paradigm of the political as a result of scientific and technical progress is refuted by the author with the aid of his own thesis, according to which the Aristotelian distinction between practice and poiesis has retained its relevance also in the changed historical conditions. Technology has not consumed practice, therefore also politics. Moreover, technology has always been the servant of practice, and this relationship cannot be any other. It has provided a means of subsistence and of the improvement of human life since the beginning of history. The complementary determinatio by technology of social structures and co-operation models is not the manifestation of the exclusive -dictate of technology-, but of both practice and technology, for it is out of practical needs that technology is developed in order to accomplish certain social goals. The historical specificity of the contemporary social structure is reflected only in the fact that technology is based on an alliance of science and industrial economy.
