Summary/Abstract: Feng shui is one of many traditions and practices from the Far East that leave their increasingly more visible mark on the Western culture. This paper discusses the issue of its metamorphosis on its way to the Western capitalist/commercialized society, placing it into the context of the mutually exclusive Eastern and Western worldviews, as well as into the context of the new age movement as a secular environment and fertile ground for the alteration of this skill. The intriguing question of the adaptation of the feng shui system to the Western attitudes and mentality has been intertwined with the issues of the advertising strategies that tend to simplify it and thus place it further from its starting point and broaden the boundaries of its application to the surprising degree.
