Summary/Abstract: The starting point for the paper is a counter-factual novel of Krzysztof Piskorski, Czterdzieści i cztery (Forty and Four). The author focuses on the fantasy character of an insect Xa'ru who takes part in the European Spring of Nations and contributes to the success of the Polish revolution. By referring to the concept presented by Jussi Parikka, the author argues that in the 19th century insects were an important metaphor for the shaping of the models of community. This is because they are the paragon of the concept of intensity and hive logic so vital from the media development perspective. These two notions lead to a diagnosis of the contemporary political culture based on social media. The purpose thereof, as Steven Shaviro pointed, is not only the homogeneous integration of the nation, but, as in the case of populism, closing the national community shut and giving it a homeosthatic function.
