Summary/Abstract: Arms transfer can decipher many features with regard to a country’s strategic culture, decision-making behavior, index of fears along with subsequent solutions to tackle them. In spite of their domestic economic and social predicaments, both Greece and India continue to invest heavily in defence, especially favoring weapons imports. Although one may agree to their need to defend an unprivileged geographic position which recurrently tempted external foes, many scholars and journalist see such shopping spree as exaggerated, uncoordinated and with the potential of becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy towards the relation with potential enemies such as Turkey, respectively China and Pakistan. This article tries to explain the above mentioned behavior using the legacy of geographical literature before suggesting a model of its own.
