Summary/Abstract: The article "Unemployment of women in Łódź voivodeship between 2004 and 2010" brings readers closer both to the socio -economic situation and the problem of unemployment in the area. The text contains a few denitions of unemployment, statistical information such as the number of unemployed, their education, period of unemployment and the number of job offers per one person. The author describes the dif cult situation of the unemployed, particularly women, whose participation in the labour market begins later (caused by their social role) than men. +is publication acquaints readers with a vital socio-economic issue of the 21st century i.e. unemployment.
