Considering the Concept of Yugoslavia's New Constitution

Summary/Abstract: The following questions concerning constitutional law can be considered in a discussion of the new constitution of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRY): the relationship between the constitution of SFRY and the constitution of the federal units in terms of content and structure; the relationship between the ideological-political and the constitutional-legal aspects; between the programmatic and the factual; the character of the basic principles and the scope of normative stipulations. A constitutional definition of the society’s fundamental values (socialism and self-management) and of the category of ownership is also a precondition for a democratic and efficient constitutional order.
