Security assurance during international football matches – European legal standards

Summary/Abstract: The authors analyse the issues of European legal solutions concerning the security assurance during international sporting events, taking into consideration the general legal regulations of the European Union and the Schengen Agreement. From the point of the issue specified in the title, the authors relate in detail to the legal EU instrument, that is to the Common Action from 26 May 1997 accepted by the Council on the basis of Section K.3 of the European Union Treaty, concerning the cooperation in the scope of public order and security, and the 1985 Convention including regulations directly concerning sporting events.
