Summary/Abstract: The sinful human nature is a very important element in Reinhold Niebuhr’s teaching. He approaches human nature and social behaviour not only from a theological viewpoint but also from the perspective of anthropology. In his works, Niebuhr also recalls historical evidences in order to display the destructive effect of human arrogance in society. He considers excessive arrogance as a method obscuring our finiteness and weakness.
