Summary/Abstract: In this article the authors share the positive experience of preparing a group of Italian students of Russian (future teachers) to participate to the IX International Summer Qualification School “Modern pedagogical technologies in teaching Russian as a foreign language” organized by the Russian Centre of Varna Free University “Chernorizets Hrabar” (Bulgaria) with the support of the foundation “Russkij mir”. The article presents a detailed plan of practical lesson focused on the development of speech skills during which Italian speakers get acquainted with Russian proverbs that have full equivalents or semantic analogues in Italian.
