Cosmic Journey in Serbian Poetry of Nineteenth Century

Summary/Abstract: In this paper the author analyses the presence of the motif of cosmic journey in nineteenth century Serbian poetry. The first part of this work takes interest in characte ristics of the motif, its stages (condition, experience, origination) and main points (sepa ration and return). The second part shows presence of this motif in poetry of Sima Mi lutinović Sarajlija, Petar Petrović Njegoš, Branko Radičević, Laza Kostić and Vojislav Ilić, and also relations and development of poetry during their century.
