Summary/Abstract: The teaching concerning matrimony and family is comprehensively treated in a document entitled Vocation To Living In Matrimony And Family produced by the Polish Second Plenary Synod. The synodal resolutions that cover these issues deal with the institution of marriage with particular regard to human corporality and sexuality, the sacramental covenant, the integrity of marital conjugation, responsible parenthood, as well as the existence of a human being and the right to life from the moment of conception. The document also covers recommendations relating to preparations for life in matrimony and family, as well as marital consensus and the legal form of solemnizing matrimony. Of note are also the statutes concerning tasks of a family in social life, or the synodal recommendations regarding possible threats to essential attributes and goals of marriage.
