Summary/Abstract: The article presents a review of diocesan and provincial synods in the Gniezno Archdiocese in the 14th and 15th centuries. The article has been divided into two parts. In Part I the 14th century, and in Part II the 15th century synods are presented. Both parts mention all the 14th and 15th century synods. To make the picture of the period complete also two codifications of the Polish Church law are included. In the conclusion it is stated that the history of synods shows evolution of the Church law, and the codifications prove that the existing Church law institutions have a lasting character and are a lasting carrier of the Church's history.
