Summary/Abstract: The study attempts to analyse sport and physical education as a social practise that may provide a view of Czechoslovak Stalinism from new perspectives other than repression and political demagogy. It strived for the creation of a new social order that was intended to be better than what had come before. The study perceives the nature of Czechoslovak physical education and ice hockey after 1948 as an integral part of European physical education systems through which the modern state applies biopower claims.
