Summary/Abstract: It is necessary to look at the essence of God’s Word and its position in the human language while considering the issue of language of religion. It aims at disclosure the mode of descent of the Holy Word and the way of existence of its meaning at different stages of existence. In this context, the philosophical ideas of the Islamic philosopher Mulla Sadra Shirazi and his contemporary Qadi Said Qomi, are of great importance, because they represent different approaches to the question of the language of religion. In order to clarify the essence and meaning of God’s attributes, Sadra Shirazi talks about the language and symbols of truth, and thus denies any metaphorical use of God’s Word. On the opposite side, Qadi Said Qomi understands the attributes of God and explains in the light of negative theology. Through detailed discussion of their attitudes we conclude that these two Islamic philosophers base their philosophical explanations of the language of religion on different ontological and anthropological principles.
