Summary/Abstract: Wittgenstein was a major influence on the contemporary philosophy of religion. He offered new and original insights into the nature of religious belief and religious language. This led to the rise of Wittgensteinian approach to the philosophy of religion. This article is a critical examination of the D. Z. Phillips’ thought who is considered to be a leading representative of Wittgensteinian philosophy of religion.
