Summary/Abstract: The present study sets out to take a close look at the way myths, symbols and dreams are related as products of the imagination and in doing so, a series of theories about these creations have been used. Literature and myths, having the fictional component as common ground, function by the principle of the communicating vessels in Octavian Paler`s writings as the author uses analogies between mythological symbols, the oneiric world and the fictional universe.
