Summary/Abstract: The second recipient of NBU Award for Humanities, prof. Michail Nedelchev, reflects over his personal and intellectual relationship with Bogdan Bogdanov (classical philologist and major cultural figure) before and after 1989 and over the status of humanities today. In the universities all over the world we hear about the crisis in humanities, the shrinking number of students and young researchers. Yet we can see: there have never been so many approaches, scientific paradigms, stiles and forms of research and writing, even convergence of scientific and fictional as we have today.
