Summary/Abstract: The article presents the results of empirical research concerning enterprises’ environment volatility. The scale of stable, predictable environment, turbulent, predictable environment, and turbulent, unpredictable environment in the scope of market environment, technological environment, and social environment was identified. The research included three hundred and sixty-eight companies distinguished due to the type of activity (manufacturing, service, trade, and mixed companies) and also due to their size measured by the level of employment (big, medium, small, and micro- sized enterprises). The example of results linking identified environment turbulence of companies with their strategic orientation (market and resource orientation) was given.
