Summary/Abstract: The paper focuses on the foundation of architectural objects by the owners of private towns from the 16th until the 18th century, foundation of public facilities: temples, monasteries, town halls, often impressive residences. With time, the spacial layout model encompassing a castle or palace, churches, the town itself and its fortifications started to be widespread among urban centres. New architectural objects served as propaganda and were meant to manifest the prestigious status of the founders. Foundation activities were carried out in line with the changing requirements of the architectural styles popular at the time. The final effect depended on the aesthetic preferences of the founders and architects, as well as on the financial capabilities of the party commissioning the architectural object.
