Summary/Abstract: Motivation is a competence and responsibility of the manager when managing human capital in a business organization. Motivation is based on the existence of an unsatisfied need in individuals who are the carriers of human capital and, driven by personal motives and reasoning, follow a certain behavior. By identifying and satisfying these needs, individual behavior can and should be guided by the management, in consideration with the objectives of the business organization. The ability to motivate the manifestation of human capital is the ability to manage a business organization. It is based on the specific traits and peculiarities of the human capital, on the company culture and the characteristics of the business environment.
