Summary/Abstract: The paper considers some of the recent amendments to some of the basic judicial acts which are bringing significant changes into the Croatian legal system. Misdemeanour courts have been marged with the municipal courts; The High Criminal Court – new specialized court has been established and the regional court network has been partially reorganized. The goal of these changes is to increase efficiency of judicial system, to speed the court proceedings and, consequently, to achieve consistent and established case law respect to the uniform application of the law. Time and practice will show whether this will be completely accomplished.
