Summary/Abstract: The goal behind the article is to present the scope of rulings of the EU Council Regulation on the introduction of enhanced cooperation in the area of the law applicable to divorce and legal separation. Although Poland remains outside the group of the states that are obliged to apply Rome III, its rulings are not entirely irrelevant for the Polish legal order, e.g. because the governing law of Poland may result from them. Moreover, it cannot be ruled out that Poland will decide to join the group of states participating in the enhanced cooperation. The article compares the solutions of the Rome III Regulation with the provisions of the new Polish act Private international law
