Summary/Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to reveal some words that have English etymon from sporting domain. Thus, we choose some Anglicisms from different sporting magazines such as: „Gazeta Sporturilor” and we try to explain the manner in which all these chosen words are going to influence the Romanian lexis taking into consideration the following linguistic levels: phonetic, morphologic and semantic one. Concerning the semantic level, we bring out not only the semantic restriction of the meanings of the words into our Romanian lexis, but also the semantic extension of these words.
