Summary/Abstract: The third millennium opened under the sign of a crisis left by the twentieth century and took, by necessity, to reflect and review the categories of history, human nature and society. In today's complex social scenery, characterized by multiple, unpublished factors, an historic transition matures, marked by the end of the modern man, driven by reason and conscience, and by the birth of a new man, post-modern, which problematizes, that becomes complex, which perceives himself in its perennial concern, that feels on himself and within himself the pain of death and that, therefore, asks to be subjected to an analysis that considers in its multiplicity and that studies him according to different angles and with multi-faceted lenses. Difference and diversity are the key categories of the new time, new culture, new entity, new education. Evaluate the “difference” extends the reconsideration to the deeper relationship between the man-subject and the world, to the wider architecture of the idea of education in terms of secularism, pluralism, cultural development, social participation, democratic enlargement, solidarity and recognition of values beyond the traditional, transmission-type, conception of education.
