Summary/Abstract: This paper explores the role of cultural context in some contemporary stylistic approaches. Stylistics can be regarded as a contextualised discipline today, where the context of culture has a significant role. Some definitions of cultural context (e.g. those by R. Fowler, C. Kramsch, and L. Badurina) are introduced and examined. The aim of this paper is to show the important role of cultural context in pragmatic, forensic, and cognitive stylistics, as well as in investigating the style of literary texts.
