Summary/Abstract: The theatrical pace issue is a constant of modern spectacology preoccupations and nowadays theatrical representations aesthetics. No matter if it is mimetic, antagonist, symbolic or metatheatrical, the theatrical space anticipates the whole action that will happen on the stage. This paper is an analysis of Maxim Gorki's The Lower Dephts, and also of two modern theatrical representations focused on this classical text: Les Bas-Fonds (directed by Eric Lacascade, Les Gémeaux Theatre, la Sceaux) and În adâncuri (directed by Yuri Kordonsky, Teatrul Maghiar of ClujNapoca). The purpose of this paper is depicting the spectacular mechanisms, the spatial textual didascalies permutations into material indexes included in the concrete area of the stage.
