Summary/Abstract: The ongoing technological development in the society connected with the rising power of the Internet and social media needs to be reflected in education, especially when we realize that the growing generation is a generation of digital natives. The paper introduces Edmodo – a social media site for education. It deals with the site´s mainfeatures and their exploitation within teaching English as a foreign language, and possibly any other subjects. Focus is placed on using Edmodo as a safe classroom management system used mostly as an information channel and assessment tool, stressing its communication capabilities and security features.
