Summary/Abstract: This paper aims at exploring Second Language Acquisition (SLA) as a process through which the learner may develop ‘an enriched cultural identity’ (Sudhoff 2010), placing emphasis on three main questions, namely (1) the connections between knowledge, culture and identity; (2) how individual identities may be affected by SLA, with particular reference to study abroad and CLIL contexts; and (3) how such potentially changing identities might also influence SLA itself.
